About Us
Our Rotary Club is a Charitable Trust made up of everyday people who roll up their sleeves and deliver practical, hands-on projects that make a real difference in our community. Through service and fundraising, we connect people and strengthen relationships - that’s what Rotary has been doing in New Zealand for more than 100 years.
You are welcome to join us for a few of our club meetings and activities. Come along, meet everyone and see what we’re all about - with no obligation.
Our Core Values
The principles that guide our actions and unite our members in service.
Diversity
We encourage diversity of vocations within our membership and in our activities and service work.
Integrity
We adhere to high ethical and professional standards in our work and personal relationships.
Leadership
We believe in the importance of leadership and as a quality of our members.
Fellowship
The power of combined efforts knows no limitation, multiplies resources, broadens our lives and perspectives.
Our Leadership & Team
Like most clubs, we have a Board elected by our Members. The Board consists of a President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and one or two additional Directors who work together to guide our club's strategic direction and ensure we're delivering on our mission
Mary Higham
President
Kia ora! I'm Mary Higham, a recently retired baby boomer and the proud President of the Rotary Club of Papamoa.
I began my career in nursing before moving into management, spending the last 30 years in leadership and management roles across New Zealand's health sector, mainly in Wellington.
I'm a wife, mother and grandmother and enjoy a busy lifestyle.
My husband and I moved to Papamoa in 2021 and joined our local Rotary club to meet like-minded people, build new friendships, and make a positive difference in our community.
It was one of the best decisions we've ever made. Rotary has given us the opportunity to connect with wonderful people, give back, and have a lot of fun along the way.
Kind regards
Mary
